Peptide Therapy on Hawaii: A Physician’s Guide to Aging Well

September is National Healthy Aging Month — the perfect time to answer the questions our patients ask most about peptide therapy: what peptides are, what they actually do, what they cost, and how to start safely with a physician-led team on Maui.

At MODO Concierge Medical Wellness in Wailea, Hawaii, peptide therapy is one of our most requested longevity services. This guide covers everything you need to know before booking a consult.

What is healthy aging (and why “healthspan” matters more than lifespan)?

Healthy aging means extending your healthspan — the years you spend strong, sharp, and mobile — not just your lifespan, the total years you’re alive. Lifespan is what happens to you; healthspan is something you can influence through sleep, movement, nutrition, preventive care, and increasingly, physician-guided therapies like peptides.

That distinction is the foundation of longevity medicine, and it’s why National Healthy Aging Month each September is about more than “eat well and exercise.”

What are peptides?

Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as signaling molecules — precise messengers your body already uses to trigger repair, hormone release, sleep, and immune responses. Your natural production of many of these signals declines with age, which contributes to slower recovery, lighter sleep, and lower energy.

Peptide therapy uses carefully selected, physician-prescribed peptides to support those natural signals. The goal is not to override your biology, but to work with it.

What is peptide therapy used for?

Peptide therapy is most commonly used for recovery and tissue repair, body composition and strength, cellular energy and longevity, sleep and focus, and skin health. At MODO, our physician-guided peptide menu is organized around these goals:

  • Recovery & repair: BPC-157 (injectable or oral) is studied for gut health and soft-tissue repair — popular with active patients recovering from training, injuries, and surgery.
  • Strength & body composition: Sermorelin, CJC-1295, and tesamorelin are designed to encourage the body’s own growth hormone release, supporting lean muscle and metabolism as natural levels decline with age.
  • Cellular health & longevity: MOTS-C and SS-31 work at the mitochondrial level — the energy engines inside your cells — and are being studied for metabolism and healthy aging.
  • Sleep, focus & mood: DSIP is used for deeper, more restorative sleep; Semax and Selank for focus and calm.
  • Skin & appearance: Copper peptides like GHK-Cu support skin, hair, and tissue renewal.

There is no single “anti-aging peptide” — the right protocol depends on your goals, history, and often your blood work.

Are peptides safe?

Peptides are generally well tolerated when they are properly sourced, correctly dosed, and prescribed by a physician — the biggest risks come from unregulated online sellers and guesswork dosing. Gray-market vials may be underdosed, contaminated, or mislabeled, and dosing without medical oversight or lab work means no one is monitoring how your body responds.

That’s why every peptide protocol at MODO begins with a consultation with our medical team, led by board-certified emergency physician Dr. Reza Danesh. We review your history and goals, order blood work when appropriate, and build a monitored plan — the right peptides, the right doses, sourced from licensed pharmacies.

How much does peptide therapy cost on Maui?

At MODO in Wailea, a physician peptide consultation is normally $299, and individual peptide vials start at $150 depending on the peptide.

September 2026 special: In honor of Healthy Aging Month, peptide consults are $49 through September 30, plus 10% off your first peptide vial. MODO Concierge members always receive their consult included with membership — and this month, an additional 15% off their order.

What happens at a peptide consultation?

A peptide consult at MODO is a sit-down with our medical team to review your health history, define your goals, order blood work if needed, and design a personalized peptide protocol. You’ll leave with a clear plan: which peptides, at what doses, for how long, and how we’ll monitor progress. Consults are available at our Wailea clinic or by telemedicine.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a prescription for peptide therapy? Yes. Legitimate peptide therapy is prescribed by a licensed medical provider and filled through licensed pharmacies. If a website sells you peptides with no medical evaluation, that’s a red flag.

How soon will I notice results? It varies by peptide and goal. Some patients notice sleep or recovery changes within weeks; body-composition and longevity-focused protocols are measured over months, often alongside lab work.

Can visitors to Maui do a peptide consult? Yes. MODO serves both residents and visitors, with in-person consults at our Wailea clinic (open 8am–10pm daily) and telemedicine options.

Where is MODO located? MODO Concierge Medical Wellness, 34 Wailea Gateway Place, Suite A106, Wailea, HI 96753 — in the heart of Wailea on Maui’s south side.
